Air Fryer Quesadillas Recipe
If you’re looking for a quick, easy, and delicious way to make quesadillas, the Air Fryer Quesadillas are the perfect solution. With minimal oil and maximum crispiness, these quesadillas cook to perfection in just a few minutes. Whether you’re using chicken, beef, or just cheese and veggies, this method ensures a golden, crunchy exterior while keeping the inside warm and melty.
Air fryer quesadillas are not only faster than traditional methods, but they also require less oil, making them a healthier option without sacrificing taste. Let’s dive into how you can create these crispy delights in your air fryer!
Ingredients:
For the Quesadillas:
- 4 flour tortillas (8-inch)
- 2 cups shredded cheese (Mexican blend, cheddar, or Monterey Jack)
- 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded (or beef, or beans for vegetarian)
- 1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup salsa (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or cooking spray)
1. Let the fillings get ready:
When you use cooked chicken, shred it into little pieces. If you use beef, make sure it’s cooked and broken up. Cut up the onion, bell pepper, and any other vegetables you want to put in the tortilla.
2. Put the quesadillas together:
Place the tortillas on a flat surface. Put the cooked chicken (or beef), chopped cheese, and any vegetables you’re using on half of each tortilla in an even layer. To make a half-moon shape with the tortilla, fold it in half and press the sides together gently to seal them.
3. Fry the quesadillas in the air:
For three to five minutes, heat the air fryer up to 375°F (190°C). Spray or brush a little olive oil or cooking spray on both sides of the folded tortilla to help them get crispy.
Make sure the quesadillas don’t touch when you put them in the air fryer basket. If you’re making more than one, you might have to cook them one at a time.
For 5 to 7 minutes, flip the quesadillas over and air fry them until the outside is golden brown and crispy and the cheese has melted inside.

Can I use corn tacos instead of flour?
Corn tortillas are fine to use. Corn tortillas are more likely to break than flour tortillas, so be careful when you flip them in the air fryer.
Can I make the quesadillas ahead of time?
Yes! The quesadillas can be put together ahead of time and kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours. If you want to freeze them, put the quesadillas together in a plastic wrap and freeze them for up to a month. Take them out of the freezer and air fry them right away. Just give them a few extra minutes to cook.
Can I use chicken that has already been cooked?
Of course! Quesadillas taste great with chicken that has already been cooked, like from leftovers or a rotisserie. You can shred it and put it in the tortilla with cheese and other things.
Can I make these instead of cheese?
Yes, you can leave out the cheese or use a dairy-free cheese option to make it dairy-free. You can also make it taste and feel better by adding more beans or vegetables.
